117 Leaves & Tarot

The 117 leaves are our way of describing the 117 epithets, nimshalim, or energies associated with Lady Wisdom. The 7 sacred energies are the main wisdom teachings of Lady Wisdom and are fundamental teachings of the Sacred Wisdom Society. These teachings are brought to life in the major arcana of tarot repeating three times on the Fool's Journey.

7 Branches & Tarot

The 7 branches are our way of describing the 7 sacred energies, or wisdom teachings of Lady Wisdom. Simply put, these are different ways of saying the exact same thing, which is also a key point of importance in tarot. The major arcana is comprised of 22 cards, the Fool (card 0) and the 21 archetype cards that the Fool meets on their journey. These 21 cards align with the 7 brances of wisdom, repeating itself three times.

The Tree & Tarot

The tree is our way of describing Lady Wisdom is her full divine and incomprehensible form, meaning that everything that connects to the leaves and branches, such as the 7 sacred energies being brought to life through the major arcana in tarot, by extension, are a part of and are the tree herself.

What is Tarot?

Tarot is comprised of 78 cards making up a deck that can be used as a self-reflection and divination tool. Each card highlights valuable wisdom insights addressing the overarching spiritual journey of a person or aspects of their mundane life, such as their emotions, mental state, physical life, or passions.

Why Does Tarot Matter?

Regardless of whether or not you choose to read tarot cards in a divinatory way, they serve as a great tool for self-reflection and growth through understanding the Fool's (your) journey and the archetypes they'll (you'll) encounter along the way.

Getting Started With Tarot

Start by finding a deck that resonates with you. No, your deck does NOT have to be gifted to you—you can absolutely purchase your own. I suggest starting with a Rider-Waite deck and learning the classical imagery prior to a deck that has more abstract imagery.
