Sacred Wisdom & Religious Trauma

117 Leaves & Religious Trauma

The 117 leaves are our way of describing the 117 epithets, nimshalim, or energies associated with Lady Wisdom. Unfortunately, religious trauma is something that impacts people mistreated by organized religious movements, churches, and cults that use fear tactics to keep people oppressed and disconnected from the Source and from Lady Wisdom. This makes it all the more important to us to help people unwind this trauma and recognize the freedom of being able to explore wisdom without the dogma.

7 Branches & Religious Trauma

The 7 branches are our way of describing the 7 sacred energies, or wisdom teachings of Lady Wisdom. These 7 wisdom principles are designed to help spiritual practitioners understand the nature of the universe and then make informed decisions about their own path by discovering who they are in the physical sense, their identity in the emotional sense, and their purpose in the spiritual sense, providing empowerment to people following religious trauma.

The Tree & Religious Trauma

The tree is our way of describing Lady Wisdom is her full divine and incomprehensible form, meaning that everything that connects to the leaves and branches, such as empowering people through Wisdom, by extension, is a part of and is the tree herself.

Let's Learn About Religious Trauma

What is Religious Trauma?

Religious trauma is a modern term describing the overwhelming psychological effects that linger following being a part of a religious organization, such as a church or cult. Religious trauma often looks like self-hatred, shame, guilt, lack of boundaries, fear of being evil or making mistakes, fear of asking questions or growing in knowledge or wisdom, and so on.

Why Does Unwinding Religious Trauma Matter?

Anytime someone has been taught not to think for themselves or is constantly trained to fear themselves, not trust themselves, and not ask questions, there is a fragmentation of the self that occurs. Learning to unwind these beliefs and rewire the brain in a healthy way can allow a person to choose what they truly believe about the world and how they move forward physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

How Can I Start Healing From Religious Trauma?

Though it's a lengthy process that requires a lot of patience and gentleness with yourself, you can start by "unlearning" what you've been taught. For example, if you're fearful of doing something because you've been told it's evil or you're going to be condemned, ask yourself why you believe that, where those thoughts and emotions stem from, and what truth you can re-wire your brain with going forward that is logical and resonates with.
