Description

This book started as many other works, and none of them were quite right. So, over and over, this project was put on hold until one day it all clicked for me, and in a day’s time, I had jotted down nearly everything you’re about to read. Of course, I used the backspace button more than any other keystroke in the process of telling this story, and what I present to you today is only a piece of many larger tales that will naturally continue to evolve as life goes on.

My only hope with this book is to share some of the key moments in my life that led me to where I am now on my journey, encourage others who may be struggling with accepting their supernatural gifts, and provide a new perspective on the art of storytelling.

When I discovered how the “Hero’s Journey” storytelling method fits in with being a spiritual practitioner, I couldn’t unsee it. This book outlines the details of that discovery in a way that will hopefully help you also accept the call to go on the journey of a lifetime—and of course, there are countless cinematic references to catch if you’re paying attention.

My favorite discovery was how the twelve stages of the “Hero’s Journey” in screenwriting seemed to perfectly fit with the twelve zodiac signs. What I realized through extensive meditation, research, and surveying dozens of fellow practitioners, though, was just how important a person’s sun sign is for their journey. After all, our sun sign in our birth chart is the “mask” we wear or “persona” we take on in a given lifetime. Our spiritual journey then naturally unfolds as we make our way through the other eleven signs.

This journey requires us to look long and hard at our own reflection, recognizing our flaws, weaknesses, and aspects of ourselves that need to be healed. Though difficult, when we genuinely take the time to release what isn’t serving us and embrace the energy aligned with what’s meant for us, we can better connect with our higher selves. Accomplishing this requires learning specific lessons from each of the zodiacs through the lens of our main personality’s sign.

I’ll tell you now, this book is riddled with language, sarcasm, awkward humor, movie quotes, and death (TW: this includes death caused by natural causes, suicide, and tragic accidents). Without death, though, we don’t have the energy of rebirth or hope and those are important pieces of this book too. You may fall in love with parts, hate other parts, or even call bullshit—but all good stories should make you feel a range of emotions.

Regardless of your thoughts on this book, I sincerely thank you for briefly entertaining me on what I like to call A Mystic’s Journey.
